Dimethicone made its first appearance on the human market with products for treating lice and nits. It is the most widely used molecule in these treatments. Its great popularity is due to its effectiveness but above all its non-toxicity which does not attack the hair or the skin.
The action of this molecule is to prevent the development of lice and nits.
Dimethicone acts by contact on the parasite. From the silicone family it engulfs the parasite in a sticky trap to immobilise it. Once the parasite is engulfed, it is detached by simple brushing.Its mode of action is non-aggressive and is therefore suitable for the most sensitive animals: puppies, kittens, pregnant and nursing females, animals with allergic tendencies etc.
